Do you have twisted, crooked or uneven teeth? Have you always dreamed of that perfect, straight smile?

59% of Britons are unhappy with their teeth and believe that a straighter, Whiter Smile would give them greater confidence in daily life!

Southport Road Dental can help you get the smile you’ve always wanted, without anyone even knowing about it. Many people believe straightening your teeth will result in wearing unsightly braces for what may be years! Not anymore. Modern technologies in teeth straightening are changing and at Southport Road Dental we can help you get the perfect smile in as little as 6 weeks – with teeth straightening systems you cannot see!

So why should you have your teeth straightened?

Do you avoid smiling? Many people hide their smile because they are embarrassed of the appearance of their teeth. Studies have shown that every time you smile, a number of physiological changes occur in your body without you even realising it. The chemical endorphins are released when we smile making us feel happier and less stressed.

Straight teeth have also been linked to greater success in work. According to research carried out by Kelton, in their ‘Behind the Smile’ perception study, on behalf of tooth straightening system Invisalign. Job candidates with straight teeth are 45% more likely to get hired than those with crooked teeth. A straighter smile can greatly increase your confidence in all aspects of your life and as the research suggests could get you the job you’ve always wanted!

Another interesting finding from this study is when attracting someone on a dating site; those with straighter teeth have been found to be 57% more likely than those with crooked teeth to get a date based on their picture alone.

Teeth Straightening Systems

Southport Road Dental uses the latest technology, making it easier and faster to straighten your teeth in a discreet way. There are many options to choose from, depending on your specific dental needs we will be able to find the most suitable system for you. Here some information of the straightening systems we use and how they can give you that perfect smile.

Lingual Braces

There are many options to achieve straight teeth in a discreet way. One option you may not have come across is Lingual braces. Lingual braces are placed behind your teeth, rather than traditional braces which sit in front of your teeth. This is perfect for someone who would like to straighten their teeth without their braces showing. This tooth straightening system is virtually invisible and hidden on the back of your teeth. This appliance works by applying gentle pressure to the teeth, slowly shifting them into a straighter position.

Invisalign

Invisalign is a straightening system which uses a series of clear, removable aligners made specifically for your teeth. As you replace each aligner your teeth will move gradually towards a new straighter position. Firstly, an impression will be made of your teeth and sent away for your aligners to be made. Invisalign aligners are nearly invisible and a very discreet way of straightening your teeth. The benefits include, no eating restrictions and being able to maintain healthy dental brushing habits during treatment.

6 Month Smiles

For many people when talking about straightening teeth they think of wearing traditional metal braces everyday for years. There is now so much more to teeth straightening than the traditional ‘train track’ braces.

Six-Month Smile is a revolutionary treatment, and a quick fix to straighten a crooked smile. This short term, modern treatment uses clear brackets and tooth coloured wires which are barely visible. Treatment time is reduced by up to 75%.

Six-Month Smiles uses the newest techniques and recent technological advancements in dentistry so that your teeth can be moved both quickly and safely. Six-Month smiles are relatively new to the UK but have been being used in the United States since 2006 and hundreds of people have been amazed at what they can do. Six-Month Smiles can be the perfect solution for getting your teeth picture perfect for a special occasion like weddings.

The Inman Aligner

The Inman Aligner is a removable appliance which uses force created by a coiled spring over time.  These springs are sat on the inside of your teeth and push your teeth against a bar that sits in front of your teeth to get them into position. The Aligners are most commonly used to straighten the front upper and lower teeth. It is recommended you should wear the aligner for 16 – 20 hours a day. The longer you wear your aligner will determine how quickly you get the results you want. We recommend this appliance is worn for around 20 hours per day. In comparison with other invisible braces, the Inman Aligner has much shorter treatment time, is removable and only one Aligner is needed for the treatment.
